One of the most wonderful and rewarding "Noble Deeds" that The Noblemen perform every year is out annual "Dictionary Project". Each year The Noblemen purchase Scholastic Dictionaries for all of the third graders in Title I Virginia Beach Public schools and deliver the books to each class in person. We give a presentation to each class and explain why we are Noble and why it makes us feel good to do a Noble Deed
for the children. Each child must then enter into a "contract" with The Noblemen in order to qualify for their new dictionary. Inside the front cover of each book is a sticker that has our contract on it and it reads like this, "This dictionary is provided as a gift for a great Virginia Beach kid. Please pass it along to another when you no longer need it." Each student promises that when they get older and need a more advanced dictionary that they will pass their Scholastic dictionary along to another child who can use it. Every year we receive calls from parents who want us to know that their child came home with a new dictionary that was given to them by another student. It is an exceptional project that truly allows us to teach children about philanthropy!

One of The Noblemen's newest Community Partners, Jim Ray, owner of Coastal Medical was able to do a very Noble Deed for a local family with the help of our membership. Jim's daughter had a friend at school whose family was recently evicted from their home. As a result of their eviction they essentially lost all of their possessions and they did not know where to turn or what to do. Jim paid for a security deposit for the family to move into an apartment and asked The Noblemen if our members might be able to make donations to help the family. Here is a letter that Jim shared with us:

"This letter is being delivered on the behalf of the Brown family to Thank Jim Ray and The Noblemen for all the support and help they provided our family when we were in such a desperate time of need. An unfortunate turn of events took place and we literally lost everything but the clothes on our backs. Not sure what to do nor where to turn next, my son Paul Jr, introduces me to Jim Ray. Paul is friends with Jim's daughter and he says daddy I know a guy that I can talk to whom I believe can help us out of our situation. I resisted the offer several times until I came to the realization that I had nowhere else to turn. So we drive to Jim's house and I introduce myself to Jim's family and then we went and talked in private. Now where I come from people don't meet folks off the street and help them within minutes. Jim went above and beyond and in every way to do what he could to provide assistance to me and my family and he did not rest until we were fully furnished and back on our feet. So on behalf of me Paul, my wife Calteisha, my daughters Shaneijah and Brianna, and my sons Paul Jr and Kalon. We want to say thank you Jim and the Noblemen!! We were blessed by you and we will NEVER forget it!"

The Noblemen were able to help the Brown family more than furnish their new apartment and with Jim's help they fully back on their feet and doing very well. Another Noble Deed well done!
