Noble Deeds

Years ago one of our members planned to get married for the 2nd time.  This gentleman had been blessed with all that he needed.  He decided to ask his friends to give to RHVB in lieu of a wedding gift. I was moved by the gesture and searched my soul for a way to acknowledge this philanthropic act.  A Noble Deed was born.  Every year following, new noble deeds were performed by members and citizens in the community. Each were awarded their own Noble Deed award.

Merriam - Webster defines Noble Deed this way

Noble

Deed

Ingredients of a Noble Deed

Example Noble Deeds:

Trolley Ride for EdMarc Hospice - Christmas gift giving to families involved with a local Hospice for kids.  The Noblemen buy gifts for the entire family along with groceries.  Up to 100 members and their spouses board Trolleys filled with food and holiday cheer and songbooks so we can sing the second verse.  We also stop by a home for teenagers and make sure they know we are thinking about them at Christmas.  It all ends up @ Tautogs a local restaurant owned by a Nobleman. We gather to share moving stories and celebrate the success of the ride.

Christmas Toy Drive - members place toy boxes in various locations around the city in order to gather new gifts/toys for kids that need a helping hand.  The Noblemen find local shelters and schools where we can distribute the gifts to families that could use it around the holidays.  This year’s goal – 3000 toys for local kids.

Dictionary Project - The Noblemen purchase over 1600 hardback dictionaries from Scholastic Book Company and distribute them personally to every third grader in Title One Elementary Schools in Virginia Beach.  Scholastic Co. heavily discounts the books.  The magic is in the giving and sharing stories with the third graders.  We have thousands of wonderful thank you letters from great kids that sincerely appreciate what we do for them.

Round Table Scholarship - The Noblemen partner with the Roundtable of Business leaders to provide a working environment with local businesses for students to spend time with in order to allow them to be exposed to great companies.  The goal is for these great students to remain in this area.

Noblemen Against Drunk Driving - Noblemen Against Drunk Driving provides safe designated driving for all Noblemen sanctioned parties. Our wish is to make your experience with our events safe and pleasurable from beginning to end. The service works very simply. Up until four days prior to our events your can sign up for a dependable  ride home from our partnering sponsor Orange Peel Transportation. When our party is over you have the benefit of arriving home without any incidences.
