One of the most wonderful annual projects or rather "Noble Deeds" that perform every year is our Dictionary Project. We deliver, in person, brand new Scholastic Elementary School Dictionaries to every third grader in Virginia Beach Title I Public Schools. The Noblemen and NobleWomen go into each classroom and talk to the children about what it is to be Noble and why it makes us feel good to do a Noble Deed for them. Before the students recieve their brand new dictionary they must enter into a "contract" with The Noblemen. They must agree to pass the dictionary along to another child when they no longer need it. We visited over 1300 local third graders this year and left them with big smiles and brand new dictionaries.

Exceptional!

Every year The Noblemen support a wonderful program in Virginia Beach called the "City Wide All Night Grad". The program hosts all night graduation celebrations in eleven Virginia Beach Public High Schools. The purpose of the program is to provide safe, alcohol and drug free celebrations for graduating seniors. The seniors spend the whole night at their high school and have a great and safe time celebrating their graduation. The Noblemen were honored to present the "City Wide All Night Grad" program with $1100 this year!

The Noblemen have been long time supporters of the "International Little League Challenger World Jamboree", a baseball tournament help every year in Norfolk just for children with Special Needs. Teams come from around the country to participate in this awesome event. Each child who participates gets a jersey and team photographs which are taken by a professional photographer. This year the photographer and the funding for the photographer fell through. The Noblemen were delighted to provide a $2500 check to cover the cost of a new photographer and to have pictures mailed to all of the participants!

The Noblemen are always looking for ways to help out great local kids who have special needs. This year we were contacted by a Mother of a child with Cerebral Palsy who told us that a big group of local kids were going to the Cerebral Palsy of Virginia Prom but they did not have any good transportation that would allow them to travel together to the big event. The Noblemen were happy to fund a giant pink stretch Hummer limousine so these kids could ride in style to a night they will not soon forget!

One of the strengths of The Noblemen organization is that we are able to make quick decisions to help families who request assistance from us. We are also able to provide support to folks who feel they do not have any where else to turn. We received a call from a Mother who had been staying in a homeless shelter with her two children. She was starting a new job that week and was very focused on getting in an apartment and getting things back on track for her family. There were two nights where she did not know where they would stay and she turned to the Noblemen for help. We were able to put them up in a local hotel for both nights!

For as long as The Noblemen have been in business we have been great supporters of Edmarc Hospice for Children in Norfolk. Edmarc contacted us recently about a seven year old who has suffered a severe hypoxic brain injury. Edmarc wanted to know if The Noblemen would sponsor season passes to Ocean Breeze Water Park for the boy, his brother and his sister. The Noblemen could not have been happier to grant this request and hope these great local kids have a wonderful summer that brings some extra smiles!
